What is our role?
Our role is to work with BME communities in identifying their needs in mental health service delivery and seeking ways to address them. We also work with mental health service providers to help them deliver appropriate and effective services to BME communities.
How do we achieve our role?
The work of CDWs is divided into four major strands:
Service development
Highlighting the importance of personal values and cultural preferences within mental health services.
Making sure that services understand the mental health needs of BME communities.
Ensuring that services have appropriate training on cultural diversity in order to deliver race equality in mental health service

Removing language and other barriers to services
Providing good and appropriate information to community resources
Capacity builder
