Rochdale and District Mind
An Opportunity to make a Difference
This is an opportunity to be involved with a highly respected, community based voluntary organisation which is in the forefront of mental health in Rochdale. 1 in 4 people will experience mental health issues at some time in their life. We provide information and support, campaign to improve policy and attitudes and in partnership with independent local Mind associations, develop local services. We do all this to make it possible for people who experience mental distress to live full lives and play their full part in society.

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Rochdale and District Mind. In addition to the Board there are several sub-groups which undertake work delegated by the Trustees and are accountable to the Board.
Te Board is made up of elected members including people who use mental health services voted in at the Annual General meeting by people who use services provided by the organisation. The Board meets monthly and more frequently if necessary and provides an accountability framework for the often complex and demanding work undertaken by the organisation.
The work done by the Board is mainly strategic, thinking about the direction of the organisation, its finances and resources, its public profile and its partnerships with other organisations. The day to day management of the organisation is carried out on behalf of the Board by the Chief Executive, the Business manager and the senior staff team.
We are always seeking people with interest and experience both in the mental health field and other areas of expertise, e.g. human resources, finance, fund raising, business management, IT or law to help us to manage a creative and effective organisation which provides local services in response to local service users needs.
