Advocacy in Mind
Independent Advocacy Services - Rochdale, Bury, Tameside & Glossop
Rochdale & District Mind has been both promoting and delivering independent professional advocacy as a positive way to improve the lives of people with mental health issues for many years.
We are an experienced local organisation and we believe that independent advocacy should be rooted in local communities. We provided an advocacy intervention to over 700 people last year in the Boroughs of Rochdale, Bury, Tameside & Glossop and our advocacy service, Advocacy in Mind, currently provides the following services:
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
- Generic mental health advocacy (inpatient and community)
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)
- Forensic mental health advocacy
Advocacy in Mind endorses Action for Advocacy’s Manifesto, “Achieving genuine voice, choice and control for all” which highlights the need for wider access to advocacy for all vulnerable groups.
