Service User Involvement
Involving service users and volunteer we believe is the essence of our
organisation. Our new Service User Involvement policy was developed in 2009 in consultation with our stakeholders, sets out the intentions and commitments of our organisation to involving service users in all aspects of our organisation.
Service users from within our projects are involved in the recruitment and
selection process of all new staff and are encouraged and supported to play an active role in the day to day running of our projects. We have run training sessions for service users around fair recruitment and selection to ensure that people involved in the recruitment process have the skills required.
We have developed many different mechanisms for service user feedback
including evaluation questionnaires, suggestion box, one to one meetings,
focus groups, service user surveys and consultation events.
We endeavour to support and empower people to move from being
beneficiaries to becoming volunteers.
We value highly the contribution of volunteer counsellors, group facilitators, growth project admin support, community business volunteers, Trustees and other volunteers who make a significant difference in the work that we do. A big thank you to them all.
