Volunteering for Mind

Rochdale and District Mind is committed to service user involvement at all  levels both within the organisation and within wider mental health services.

There are various groups you can become involved in that have different activities and functions. You could become a service user representative if you wish. You can get involved as much or as little as you like.

There is a wide range of volunteering opportunities throughout the organisation. These include:

  • Administration
  • Working with groups and activities
  • Counselling
  • Information Helpline
  • Management Committee

Volunteers are provided with induction training and support through their volunteering activities. If you have a skill that might be useful and time to spare, or if you have an interest in mental health please contact us:

Campaigning

We work to improve services, challenge stigma and discrimination through specific campaigns, and work with others in the world of mental health to promote mental health awareness.

Training

We also offer the following training:

  • NVQ Basic Skills (Literacy & Numeracy)
  • C&G Level 2 certificate in Community Mental Health Work
  • Multi Skilled Hospitality Training
  • Supported Work on the Compleat project
