How to Access Our Services

If you are interested in accessing any of our services, please contact our Open Mind Team on (01706) 752 352. To access our Advocacy Services please contact (01706) 752 352 for Bury and Rochdale Advocacy Services, (0161) 339 7928 for Tameside Advocacy Services and (01706) 752 350 for the Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy Service in Rochdale. If you prefer you can complete the initial contact form and send it to the address in our Contact Us section.  GPs and support workers can also refer on your behalf.

The Open Mind Team provides a free and confidential gateway to all Rochdale & District Mind’s services for any one experiencing Mental Health issues.

When we receive your referral form, a Personal Development Worker will then contact you to make an appointment with you to see how we can help you (appointments with female Development Worker available upon request).

Currently we aim to:

  • To phone back new clients who leave a telephone message within 48 hours.
  • See face to face or carry out a telephone assessment with a new client within 7 days of receiving their initial contact form.
  • To give each client the opportunity to engage in an activity that will help improve their wellbeing within 4 weeks of completing their face to face or telephone assessment.
  • See active clients every 3 months to review their progress and to update their support plan.

We offer a holistic approach to wellbeing because we understand that everyone has different needs.  Your Personal Development Worker will work with you, so you can choose which aspects of your life you would like support with. We develop a support plan with you using a ‘Recovery Star’ model. This will be reviewed regularly so you can see the progress you have made through your support plan.

Following your first meeting with your Personal Development Worker, when you have decided the services you wish to access, we will then will contact you to  arrange a start date (N.B.  Some of our services may need additional assessment).
