Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.

When you’re experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. That’s what we do. We empower people to understand their condition and the choices available to them.

We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

How we can support you

The majority of our wellbeing support is delivered through groups and courses. Throughout the pandemic, we have responded to the needs of our communities and adapted our services to support them the best we can. We have been delivering our support over the telephone and zoom throughout the pandemic and as we see our centre open back up, some of our sessions are moving back into the Wellbeing Centre. We are looking forward to welcoming you back through our doors.

If you see a group or course that you are interested in attending please get in touch, the contact details for each group are detailed below. If you would like more information and additional support  before starting a group please complete our referral form and one of our Wellbeing Coordinators will be in touch to invite you to attend a one to one Welcome session.

 

Afternoon Tea - Women's Drop in

This drop in provides a safe, secure and understanding environment where all who identify as female are welcome to come for a cup of tea and a chat.

Rhythm Cirlce

Music can have such a positive effect on our mental wellbeing.

In these sessions the facilitator will play instrumental music and the group is invited to choose their own instrument and shake, bang or strum along. Participants can join in, in their own time, or choose to listen to the sounds being made by the group and relax.

Women’s Wellbeing Support Group

This support group provides a safe, secure and understanding environment in where women who experience mental health issues can support each other. This is a 12-week support group, spread over weekly 2 hour sessions.

Wellbeing Social Café - Face to Face

Our Wellbeing Social Café provides a safe, no-pressure, and welcoming environment where people can connect with others, combat social isolation and have some fun.

We chat about lots of different interesting topics such as hobbies & craft ideas, what we watch on TV, learning new skills, what we have been up to as well as having a laugh with funny jokes!

  • Tuesdays 10am – 12pm

BAME Women's Wellbeing Social Cafe

Our social café provides an opportunity to connect with others in a welcoming and relaxing environment to help improve your wellbeing and reduce isolation.

Delivered in Urdu/Punjabi and Kashmiri languages.

BAME Women’s Wellbeing Group

Provides a safe space to discuss the stigma of mental health and their experiences of mental health. The group meets their language, cultural and religious needs. The group is delivered in Urdu/Punjabi and Kashmiri languages. This is a 12-week support group over 1 half hours a week.

Anxiety & Depression Support Group

This group offers confidential support, contact with others in a similar situation and the exploration of positive ways to cope with anxiety and depression.

Topics range from sleep, panic attacks, mood, motivation and relaxation.

Relaxation - Women's group

 

Relaxation slows the body mind and quietens the mind.

During the sessions our facilitator will guide you through a range of relaxation techniques. These are helpful tools aiding in the coping of stress and anxiety, leading to the promotion of overall long-term health. You will be provided a chair to sit upon.

This group welcomes all who identify as female each Tuesday 11:00am-12:00pm

Anxiety Management Course

The course uses CBT based techniques to help you to understand how anxiety affects how you think, how you feel and subsequently what you do. Giving you the tools to have an increased understanding of thoughts, emotions, feelings and behaviour, reduced levels of anxiety and stress and increased levels of wellbeing. This is a 12 hour course, spread over 6 weekly 2 hour sessions.

Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse Groups – Separate Male and Female - Zoom

The group focuses on understanding the effects of childhood sexual abuse, building skills, telling your story in a safe environment and connecting with other survivors. Each participant is equal and valued. Being in control of your recovery can be scary at first, you can join in at your own pace. This is a 6 week course of 2 hour session, followed by another 6 week butterfly support group.

All who identify as female – Monday 10.00am – 12.00pm

All who identify as male – Monday 1.00 – 3.00pm

Living Life to the Full Course

Teaches a range of life skills that are based on a tried and trusted CBT-based approach. You’ll learn how to: understand why you feel as you do; choose activities that improve wellbeing; identify behaviours that make you feel worse; identify and combat negative thinking styles; boost self-esteem and confidence. A 12 hour course, spread over 6 weekly 2 hour session.

Creative Writing Group - Email

While Creative writing is therapeutic, the group also helps boost confidence and gives you the opportunity to make new friends. It offers you the time and support to learn something new or develop your craft. Whether you’re just starting out or working on your own writing project, the group is here to support your needs. 

Duration: your writing can be sent in over email and is read each Wednesday and feedback is offered

Art 4 Wellbeing Course

Enhance your well-being in our therapeutic arts & crafts session. Unleash your creativity and free your mind!

There is something for everyone to enjoy, including but not limited to: painting, sketching, colouring, origami and paper-crafts!
