Counselling
Our confidential and non-judgemental counselling service provides one to one counselling sessions to help relieve stress, anxiety and depression, increase self-esteem and improve relationships.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a counsellor listening to you in a confidential and non-judgmental environment to help you explore thoughts and feelings which are impacting on your mental health and wellbeing.
Counselling can address a range of issues such as feelings of panic, anxiety, stress, depression, and low self-esteem. It is an opportunity for you to develop coping strategies and come to decisions to understand and make sense of what is best for you.
Who can access the service?
Our counselling service is available to anyone 18 years or older, living in, or whose GP is in Rochdale, Heywood or Middleton and is not accessing counselling/therapy elsewhere.
We are unable to offer counselling to people affected with PTSD, under 18s, residents outside of Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood. We will try to help you find another service that would be able to support you.
How can I access counselling?
You can complete a self-referral form on our website here:
Alternatively, you can call our Information Line on 01706 752 338 or 0800 107 0729 and we will post a referral form out to you.
What happens next?
You will be invited to meet with one of our Wellbeing Coordinators, this would be an opportunity for you to see if any of our other services or activities would be beneficial alongside counselling.
Next, there will be an initial counselling assessment, where a £2 charge for new referrals will be collected. From there you will be offered weekly sessions with your counsellor. Our counselling sessions are free of charge and we are very grateful for any donations to help us continue to deliver this service.
