Youth Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is the help given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is obtained. MHFA does not teach people to be therapists but it gives people skills to notice symptoms and provide initial help and support.
The Youth Mental Health First Aid training is an internationally recognised course, designed specifically for those people that teach, work, live with or care for young people aged 8-18 years. You will learn how to provide information, tools and techniques to promote a young person’s mental health and emotional wellbeing and; support a young person who might be experiencing mental and emotional distress.
This is a two consecutive day course and you should arrange to attend on both days. You will receive a Youth MHFA manual that you can take away with you at the end of the training, and also an attendance certificate from MHFA England to say you are now Youth Mental Health First Aider.
