At Rochdale and District Mind we believe in the principles of recovery and in the individual as an expert of his or her own mental health. We are committed to supporting and enabling people with mental health issues to have a say in all aspects of the services they receive- from their individual care, treatment and support her at Mind to being able to influence both organisational and wider service policy and development
We are committed to and have developed many different mechanisms for user involvement. These include co-design of services, recruitment and selection of staff peer navigators, peer education and support and peer mentoring. We listen to what people tell us and feedback from people who use Rochdale and District Mind’s is crucial to improving experience and ensuring that what the organisation is delivering is in direct response to need. There are a variety of ways this can happen including focus groups, evaluation questionnaires, suggestion boxes, one to one meetings, satisfaction surveys, consultation events or participation group such as our Young Advisors.
As part of our commitment to we endeavour to support and empower people to move from using our services to helping us to deliver services through becoming volunteers or paid staff.
