Volunteering for a mental health charity is a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.

It’s a great way to get involved in your community and pick up some new skills while you’re at it.

Whether you’ve got a few hours or a few days, there’s a way for you to get involved and be part of something meaningful.

Our volunteers are incredible! We couldn’t provide the vital mental health and emotional wellbeing support to all our service users without them.

We recognise the importance and benefits of having a diverse and inclusive work force, and would therefore particularly welcome volunteer applications from the following, currently under-represented, groups:

  • People from culturally diverse communities
  • Disabled people
  • People with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities

Rochdale and District Mind is committed to meeting the reasonable adjustments of disabled people and always welcomes applications from people with lived experience of mental health problems.

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an appropriate level of DBS check required for the role (a previous conviction does not necessarily preclude employment).

Once you have been accepted as a volunteer, you are provided with an induction, safeguarding, data security, PREVENT, equality & diversity and moving & handling training, as well as ongoing support through your volunteering activities.

Please note – We do not accept volunteers under the age of 18.

If you have any questions about becoming a volunteer, please email volunteering@rochdalemind.org.uk
