Are we the same as National Mind?

No, we’re not the same—but we are affiliated with them.

Rochdale and District Mind is a Local Mind. Local Minds are spread across the UK, each managing their own funding to provide mental health services in their communities. While they operate independently, they work closely with National Mind to ensure coordinated support nationwide.

We raise our own funds to provide essential mental health support within the Borough of Rochdale. We are governed by our own board of trustees and collaborate with local authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups to meet the specific needs of our community.

How are we funded?

We are independently responsible for securing our own funding.

We receive financial support through donations, grants, and income from services provided on behalf of local councils, the NHS, and private organisations. Additionally, we may receive funding from National Mind via a grant scheme, for which we apply for annually.

Most of our mental health services are provided free of charge, with a small fee for some. This makes our services more accessible to the communities we support, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get the help they need.
