Sam Davys awarded MBE in King’s first New Year’s Honours list!

Rochdale and District Mind trustee Sam Davys has been awarded an MBE in the King’s FIRST EVER New Year’s Honours list!

On Friday 3rd March she attended Buckingham Palace with her family to receive her MBE which was announced back in December. The MBE awarded to her for services to young people and inclusion within Digital Industries. This is due to the work Sam did at TalkTalk, where she recruited 100 young people through the ‘Kickstart’ scheme that were previously unemployed and receiving universal credit, due to the pandemic. On receiving her award, she said:

The project was incredibly rewarding, especially as around half of those secured further employment with us after the 6 months, so it really was life changing for some. Princess Anne awarded me my medal, it was an incredible day and memories to last a lifetime!

Sam has been a valued member of our Board since 2021 and has brought, and continues to bring, a wealth of skills, knowledge and passion to our team.

Congratulations Sam Davys MBE from all at Rochdale and District Mind! 🎉
