Middleton Wellbeing Centre & Cafe Opening Event
We are celebrating the opening of our new Wellbeing Centre and Café in Middleton!
We are delighted to announce that we now have two Community Cafes, one based at Nye Bevan House in Rochdale and a new Wellbeing Centre & Café on Wood Street in Middleton.
Some of the Middleton communities may remember our old café that sadly had to be shut when the pandemic hit – this gave us an opportunity to consider our offer in Middleton and we used this as a positive to develop this new Wellbeing Centre and Café. Many residents in Middleton are now able to access the support that is available to them on their doorstep.
We transformed an old Bookmakers into a perfect space for a Café and Wellbeing Centre where we can offer mental health and emotional wellbeing support with room for a kitchen area, large windows for a café to sit within and enough area for one to one rooms and a large group room. This provides the perfect space for us to deliver our mental health and wellbeing support including one to one wellbeing sessions, Listening Lounge, Dementia & Carers Activities, Social Cafes, Cooking for Wellbeing Classes and Self-Help Courses.
We would like to extend our thanks to Zen Internet, who helped with the move from the old Middleton café and generously donated computers to help enable this café to become an internet café. Thank you also to Dunelm for their donation/contribution of Shelving, plants and picture frames that frames the art created by the Art 4 Wellbeing Group at Rochdale & District Mind.
We would also like to thank the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Aasim Rashid, who gave his support, attended the opening event and cut the ribbon to celebrate the launch of the Wellbeing Centre and Cafe!
We are a not-for-profit charity so all profits made at our cafés go back into Rochdale & District Mind to enable the continuous delivery of our services supporting the community.
